Fence half dog-proofed!
We (finally) made an effort to dog-proof the fence at the back. . . you can't really see much from here, you'll just have to believe that there's chicken wire below the bottom two rails. We're about half-way there, hopefully get the other half done next weekend.
Mosaic laid in the bathroom
We got FLATTENED! (On Friday)
They came in with their 'dozers on Friday and spread around all those mud-hills. Now we have us some nice sweeping hills instead of treacherous mud-cliff-faces!!!
I want to go out and buy turf and put it down, before all the mud slides down the hill! I think we still need a bit more fill though. . .bring on the dirt!

That's a hose-pipe. . . not a snake! (This time)

Tiler almost done all he can for now
Laundry floor has been grouted. . .
Bathroom floor tiles have been laid, and some mosaics have been positioned. . . Dale wanted to use the curved trim (I think it's easier to lay), but I sorted him out. . . FLAT TRIM! . . . I'm getting the flat trim. (curved trim is too shiny for me)

All mosaics, front portico and bathroom floor tiles should be finished by the weekend. . . Dale'll have to come back to do the kitchen mosaics, laundry splashback, WC splashback and finish off the alfresco tiles.
Jeff was in this morning fixing up the slight curve in the theatre room coffered ceiling, and straightening out a wall that the gyprock delivers stuffed up. . . hopefully we can finish painting the theatre room this weekend.
Painters are due in on Monday. . . apparently one of them popped by the house this morning and estimated 8 days to finish the lot. Woohoo!
Kitchen is due to be fitted on Wednesday! Now I'm EXCITED!

Laundry Floor tiled
I didn't know if the tilers would be taking yesterday off, but turns out they didn't! Jolly good show chaps! You can take holiday when you've finished our job :)
Laundry floor has been tiled. . . tiles look a lot darker than I remember! Hope they look ok with the cupboards.

Bathroom has been grouted. . . spa is now looking slick. . . they'll probably put the floor tiles in next, then the mosaics (yay).

Weekend away. . . Yay!
It's a wee bit off topic, but I thought I'd post a few pics anyway. . . we took the family for a little long weekend away this weekend. . . found a LOVELY spot in between Lithgow and Mudgee (NSW) called Turon Gates, and stayed in a very nice little cabin on the "mountain".
It was such a relaxing time, needed a break from months of working on the house. . . didn't even take the laptop! (Not that we'd get wireless connection up there anyway, didn't even have mobile reception. . . hurrah!)
Scenery shot:

WE GOT THE POWER
Not sure how long it's been there, but Phil just noticed it today. . . it's a POWER POINT! YEAH! But there's only one. It's the one for the fridge, and we have absolutely no idea why it's there. . . maybe it's just a practical joke? I'm sure they won't be putting in the rest of them until the painting's done.
Spa has tiles too!
Ahhhhhhh.. . spaaaaaaaa
Not sure why Phil took this ultra-closeup. . . but thought I'd post it anyway. . .
Look at the space on that hob! Enough for a whole bottle of champers AND snacks! (Phil just told me those snacks have to be celery and carrot. . . diet when we move in!)
Darn. . . we should have asked them to put the step up a bit higher. . . we could have fit a whole platter of food on there!!! Maybe an esky?

They've done it again. . . tiles are symmetrical! I love my tilers. . . and they love symmetry. . . and I love symmetry. . . so I love them!

Ensuite Tiles
Ensuite wall and floor tiles are in and grouted. . . just waiting for the mosaics to go in the recess. . . . oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh
Just look at the neatness of the holes around the shower mixers. . . ahhhhhhh. You can see it better in the photos before the grout - they've centred the tiles instead of starting at one wall! NICE!

Again, it looks like they've centred the floor tiles too. This was a bit of a toughie, as our wall tiles are 600 wide and the floor tiles are 300. . . we originally thought they'd all line up, but we forgot about the grout that has to go in between the 300 width tiles. . . bummer! Looks like Dale and Jason have done the best thing possible and centred the middle of a floor tile, and the grout between the two wall tiles, so it doesn't look like we're trying to line them up!!! Another NICE!
You can also see the colour of the floor tiles a little bit better in this photo if you zoom right in. I'm not sure why the grout in the shower area is darker than outside, maybe it's still drying???

Tilearama
More tiles!!!
Things have been going along rather nicely down at the house. . . Phil tells me that the tilers are doing an A1 job of laying those tiles, and that they're all really even and straight! You beaut! I may well go down there myself before work tomorrow and see if he's telling the truth.
It's really good to see how far they're getting at the end of each day. . . they're fair steaming along!
Ensuite shower. . . check out our recess!! You can see the slight shimmer of the trim that I want them to put on the sides of the recess. . . Dale the tiler told me that it's a floor trim, but I don't care! I still want it on there! We've seen it done in a few Masterton display homes and really liked it. . .

Ensuite shower recess again:
And again. . .
Ensuite double vanity space. . .
Close up of grouted tiles. . . they look a bit curved, but I'm pretty damn sure it's the camera lens:
And they've added more besser blocks around the spa! I like it. . . I don't want it tiled. . . it's looks all industrial! They've placed the blocks for Phil's VB, I'm just waiting for my champagne shelf to be laid.
More tiles
More tiles. . . more tiles!
When I was about 12, my parents decided to move house. Our new house had a BEAUTIFUL avocado bathroom! (Yuk). Mum and Dad ripped it out and put in a white bathroom. . . the same bathroom is still in the house now. I have learnt from this to keep the expensive things simple. . . and white (lucky Phil agreed).
They're going up the walls in the main bathroom. . . shower corner:
And in the ensuite - double douche (for all of you that took French at school):
Main bathroom, double vanity:
Main bathroom, spa. . . they're very neat at cutting these tiles. . . look just to the left of the top of the spa, there's a thin slither of tile coming above where the champagne hob will sit. . . very neat!

I think they're going to use the besser blocks (breeze block) type things to build up the hob and step around the spa, nice and strong!
Main bathroom again:
